It is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English Paper Piecing. The long staple Mako' of mercerised Egyptian cotton is very smooth, and strong thus making it great as basic patchwork piecing thread. 50 weight thread indicated by the orange spool colour.

Anonymous -Aurifil 50cwt is the best cotton thread for ‘machine piecing’ that I’ve found. Behaves beautifully, and threads through sewing needles like the proverbial hot knife through butter. Dove is a fabulous colour for patchwork, as it’s almost invisible to the eye, so blends in with a variety of colours.
