It is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English Paper Piecing. The long staple Mako' of mercerised Egyptian cotton is very smooth, and strong thus making it great as basic patchwork piecing thread. 50 weight thread indicated by the orange spool colour.

Jan Legge -The Aurifil 50/2 Ecru thread is just the colour and weight I was looking for to complete my project. It blends well and runs through the fabric very smoothly. It is my go to thread now for patchwork and quilting.
