Clamshell Cushion Pattern Instructions

Clamshell Cushion quilt pattern, with paper template included.

Iron Clamshell patches to a fusible wadding then stitch into place using a decorative thread (no piecing!) to create these dimensional scales that look like the hide of some mythical beast! Alternatively flip the other way up if you prefer the more traditional clamshell look.

Requirements to make one of these cushions are:

• 56 x 5" Charm Squares - 28 each of 2 colourways
• 65cm square of Vilene Iron-on Fleece Medium Loft (ref 9841)
• 65cm square of Natural Cotton Muslin (ref 1000-12)
• 22" or 24" cushion filler (depending on how plump you want it) 
• 65cm square piece of fabric for the cushion back.
• Decorative thread in a coordinating colour
